South West Championship – 28th & 29th August

The South West Championship and Round Four of the MKRC Championship took place at Mansell Raceway on the 28th and 29th August. Junior Blue and Senior Blue also partook in the Championship Weekend.

Honda Cadet Final

The Honda Cadet Final was fiercely fought for the top three positions with 0.15 seconds splitting the top three. Potter finished in first having gained two positions, Whitticombe finished in second having also gained two positions, rounding off the top three was Pikes. Whitticombe held the fastest lap of 54.88 seconds.

Senior Rotax Final

In the Seniors Final, Johnson dominated the race and finished with a 3.18 second lead. He also held the fastest lap of 45.92 seconds. Symonds finished in third and Marlow gained a position to finish in third.

Mini Max Final

The Mini Max Final saw multiple drivers gaining a number of positions in the race. Tribe gained one position to finish the race in first position. Haywood gained an impressive five positions to finish in second; he also held the fastest lap of 48.95 seconds. Rounding off the top three was Bartlett who gained one position to finish in third. Spilsbury had a notable drive gaining six positions.

Junior Rotax Final

The Junior Rotax Final was completely dominated by Amelia Nelson who won with a lead of 7.41 seconds. Nelson also held the fastest lap of 47.19 seconds. Lambert gained four positions to finish in second and Payne-Johns held position to finish in third.

177 Rotax Final

In the 177 Final, Roberts gained two positions and achieved the fastest lap of 46.73 seconds to finish in first. He was closely followed by Branfield who also gained two positions to finish in second. Davis rounded off the podium finishers in third place.

Junior Blue Final

The Junior Blue Final was dominated by Sam Mitchell who finished with a 10.95 second lead. Mitchell held the position all race and also held the fastest lap of 50.25 seconds. Read held position to finish in second and Hibbard also held position to finish in third.

Senior Blue Final

In the Senior Blue Final, Cleal finished in first position having started on pole position and he also held the fastest lap of 49.74 seconds. O’Neill gained four positions to finish in second place and Joseph finished in third place. Shone had a notable drive having gained four positions.

KZ2 and 250 Super Karts Final

In the Super Karts Final, Gould won with an impressive fastest lap time of 41.83 seconds. With an average speed of 4.875mph less than Gould, Morris finished in second and Smith in third with the 250N.
